A little bit about me
I was born in Ukraine but grew up moving from country to country. Not surprisingly, the stories I love reading and writing the most tend to be about discovering new worlds or going on a transformational journey. I love multicultural environments, unusual casts of characters, and imaginative settings that hide a deeper meaning.​

My first published work was a picture book (written for the PLANETS Foundation to inspire kids to pursue science and space exploration), but I've since focused on Middle Grade and Young Adult fiction. For me, these genres have an irresistible power to capture surreal, epic, often hilarious (and terrifying!) moments from childhood and adolescence. I'm currently working on a MG novel that blends fantasy, mystery and adventure.
A lot of my inspiration comes from mystical traditions and spiritual teachings from different parts of the world. I am fascinated by Tarot symbolism, the hidden messages in Renaissance art, Tibetan Buddhism, old Taoist texts, folklore and indigenous wisdom, as well as anything that helps us gain a better understanding of the mysteries of the universe and the fascinating workings of the human mind.

I'm always up for exploring new books, unconventional stories, and experimenting with different art styles. Most days, you can find me reading an old book full of hidden gems. As collectors and readers of old, rare books, my husband and I are always looking for some new treasure to add to our library. I love it when old wisdom can be brought back in a new light, and I'm looking forward to finding new ways to shine that light upon my writing and artwork. If it uplifts, inspires, and encourages us to find our own inner magic, I want to share it with you!
